Signs Your Mul-T-Lock Deadbolt Installation Is Failing
- Key catches or requires jiggling. The pin chambers are gumming up with dust from California’s dry summers, or the sidebar is wearing unevenly. This only gets worse, and forcing the key can snap it off in the cylinder.
- Thumb turn stiffens seasonally. Wood doors in California swell in winter and shrink in summer. If the thumb turn binds only in certain months, the bolt may be misaligned with the strike. If it’s stiff year-round, the internal cam is wearing.
